The Sloopy kit was purchased from Prestwich Model Center and came with everything except the motor, battery pack, radio controls, speed controller and glue, and was very good value for money.  The most off putting part of the kit was joining the hull and top together, if you have ever worked with cyanacrylate glue (superglue) then you will know what I'm talking about

Useful tools included a a set of Permagrit needle files and a large Permagrit plate file along with the recommended wet and dry sand paper.  Prestwich include a comprehensive instruction sheet which holds lots of useful information, but if you can get to see one before you start it makes the going that much easier.

The kit probably took about 7 hours to put together in total but seemed longer when spread over several evenings.  The day came to launch the Sloopy and we were not disappointed, well that was until I sunk it in three feet of water (make sure every bit of available space that is left in the model is taken up with buoyancy aids).  After a hasty retrieval, quick strip down and an overnight dry out in the airing cupboard we will be back on the water next weekend.
